The Sleep Sense™ Program was created by Dana Obelman, a sleep expert who has been helping families for over a decade.  Dana believes that healthy sleep habits make for healthy children. A well-rested child is curious, energetic, happy, playful, and eager to learn.  The Sleep Sense™ program will accommodate a variety of parenting styles rather than focus on a right or wrong method to create healthy sleep habits. Based on your needs,  I will create a sleep plan that you feel comfortable with using the methods that will help your family reach your sleep goals.

My Approach

I will give you information about why sleep is so important for children.  


I will then lay out a step-by-step plan that you feel comfortable with based on your child's personality.


Together, we will measure success and make any adjustments needed.

A Little Note on the "Crying" Question

  

Since people always ask me about whether my program involves “crying it out,” I think it’s something that deserves to be addressed here.

Crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. That’s why I’m always sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve at least some amount of protest on the child’s part.

Please understand that I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. The reason that The Sleep Sense™ Program is so effective is that is allows you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.
